A heavy rainstorm has destroyed properties worth millions of naira at the Kwara State National Youth Service Corps, NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Yikpata.
The incident was confirmed by the Public Relations Officer for the Kwara NYSC, Mr. Oladapo Morakinyo, to newsmen in Ilorin.
According to Mr. Morakinyo, the incident occurred around 4:30 pm on Saturday, April 26.
He said some structures, including the administrative block, camp mosque, market, kitchen, and multipurpose hall were adversely affected.
Also, vehicles belonging to some staff members were damaged, with roofs blown off, and a big tree was uprooted, but no lives were lost in the incident.

Meanwhile, the Kwara State Commissioner for Youth Development, Mallam Shehu Ndanusa, and the Etsu of Tsaraji, Alhaji Aliyu Abdullahi, visited the camp to commiserate with staff and corps members and assess the level of damage.
