The Kwara State government has said efforts are ongoing to secure the release of seven men and women recently kidnapped at Osi and Obbo Ajegunle, in Ekiti Local Government Area of the State.
The Senior Special Assistant on Security, to the Kwara State Governor, Muhydeen Aliyu disclosed this to Nigerian Times.
The SSA Security to the Kwara Governor, was reacting to an appeal made by representatives of the kidnapped victims who expressed concern that their family members were still being held captive, while the two persons kidnapped afterwards, have been released.
Muhydeen Aliyu affirmed that government was working tirelessly to secure the release of the kidnapped victims who have been held for about fifteen days now, accosted on their way to Offa in Kwara State from Abuja.
Earlier, representatives of the victims’ families appealed to relevant authorities to assist them in the release of their family members.
The appeal, they maintained it became necessary as the kidnapped persons were still being held hostage despite having met the demands of their adductors.
The families explained that they had been in agony since the incidence due to worry and sleepless nights.
