By : Admin

A wave of fear has gripped residents of Akupal village in Ikulu Chiefdom, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, following the abduction of four individuals — including a seven-month-old baby — by suspected gunmen.

The chilling incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on May 5, 2025, when armed assailants stormed the community and forcefully whisked away the victims from their home.

The kidnapped individuals have been identified as Ayuba Mathew, Magret Ferdinand, Sintia Thomas, and baby Jessica Thomas. The gunmen reportedly fled with the victims to an undisclosed location.

In the wake of the attack, security forces were immediately deployed to the area, launching a coordinated search-and-rescue operation to locate and recover the captives.

The incident has heightened tensions across the region, which has already been battling a surge in kidnappings and violent crimes targeting vulnerable rural communities.

Authorities are urging locals to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity as efforts continue to track down the perpetrators and safely recover the abducted victims.

This latest attack underscores the urgent need for improved security measures in Southern Kaduna, a region long plagued by banditry and communal violence.
