The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, from ₦835 to ₦825 per litre. This latest cut reflects the company’s continued efforts to offer competitive pricing and strengthen its position in Nigeria’s domestic fuel market.
The 650,000 barrels-per-day facility had previously reduced petrol prices in April from ₦865 to ₦835 per litre, following an earlier drop from ₦880 to ₦865. However, that reduction was not fully reflected at retail outlets due to a lack of compliance by oil marketers.
The lastest adjustment is aimed at giving customers more value as well as consolidation of it’s position in domestic market
The drop in crude prices has provided refiners with the flexibility to lower PMS prices, offering some relief to consumers grappling with high living costs. As the country’s largest refinery, Dangote’s pricing strategy is expected to influence broader market trends and potentially pressure competitors and marketers to follow suit.
