The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has officially handed over a 750-unit luxury housing estate confiscated by the agency to the Federal Ministry of Housing.

The estate was handed over by the Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Olanipekun Olukoyede, to the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc Ahmed Dangiwa, on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Mabushi.

The mass housing estate, which was seized by the anti-graft agency in Abuja late last year, was reportedly owned by the former Governor of the Central Bank, Godwin Emefiele, who is on trial over alleged financial malfeasance during his reign as the apex bank’s governor.

According to reports, the over 750 luxury duplexes will soon be available for purchase by interested Nigerian buyers as the government seeks to recoup its money.

Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, announced that the housing units will be sold through a clear and competitive process.

“This procedure will be promoted extensively and overseen through the Renewed Hope Portal,” the Minister said.
