President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of new Governing Council members for the University of Abuja (UNIABUJA), University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), and Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka (NAU).
The appointments follow the February dissolution of UNIABUJA’s council and the removal of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Aisha Maikudi over eligibility concerns.
According to a statement by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, the new UNIABUJA council includes Prof. Rosemary Egonmwan (South-South), Dr. Adedeji Adefuye (South-West), Prof. Sarki Abba Abdulkadir (North-West), and Prof. Aminu Dukku (North-East).
For UNN, the new appointees are Rt. Hon. Ogbonna Eugene Odo, Dr. Nkem Okeke, and Ofoke Chukwuma Ugbala (all South-East), Dame Amina Yakowa (North-West), Muhammad Inuwa Tahir (North-West), and Nojeeb Agunbiade (South-West).
