The Kano State Government has announced that all public primary and secondary schools across Kano State will shut down starting Wednesday, June 4, as students begin their Eid-el-Kabir holiday, the state government has announced.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Education, boarding school students are expected to vacate their schools between June 4 and June 15, while day students will resume on Monday, June 16, 2025.
The announcement, signed by Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru, Director of Public Enlightenment, confirmed that the rest of the 2024/2025 academic calendar remains unchanged.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Education Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda urged families to ensure their children return on time after the break.
The holiday comes as Muslims across Nigeria prepare to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, a major Islamic festival that honors the faith and obedience of Prophet Ibrahim.
