The remains of the late Oludofian of Idofian, Oba Muhammed Jamiu Olanrewaju Adedamola Omikunle II, have been laid to rest amidst tears by members of the community.
The Janazah prayer was coordinated by Chief Imams of Idofian, Igbaja, Amoyo and Shehu Muhydeen Hussein at about 4pm on Thursday.
Oba Muhammed Jamiu Olanrewaju died at about 10 O’clock Thursday morning following a brief illness.
The burial was attended by dignitaries from all walks of life including the traditional rulers, Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, Hadj Femi Yusuf, religion and union leaders, as well as the members of the community.
Oba Muhammed Jamiu Olanrewaju Adedamola Omikunle II, died barely a year and six months after his official installation as the Oludofian of Idofian.
His brief tenure on the throne left a notable impact, especially in fostering communal harmony and preserving local traditions.
The late monarch would be remembered by many for his humility, spiritual devotion, and commitment to cultural development in Ifelodun and beyond.
Meanwhile, condolences have started pouring in from Royal fathers, government officials, and members of the community.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has commiserated with the people of Idofian in Ifelodun Local Government Area on the passing of the Oludofian of Idofian, Oba Muhammed Jamiu Omikunle II.
Governor AbdulRazaq, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, said that the death of the second class monarch, whom he describes as a man of peace, is an incalculable loss to the state.
He urges the community and the family of the monarch to accept the sad development as an act of God and take solace in his legacy of peace and stability within his short reign.
The Governor prays to Allah to admit the late monarch to Al-jannah Firdaus and uphold his family and the community upon goodness.
Also, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Mai-Martaba Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR has mourned the passing of the Oludofian of Idofian in Ifelodun Local Government Area, Oba Muhammed Jamiu Omikunle II.
This is contained in a condolence message issued on Thursday by his spokesman, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona.
The Emir expressed sadness over the demise of Oba Omikunle II barely one year and six months of his ascension to the throne.
He sent the condolences of the entire members of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council to the families of the late monarch, the people of Idofian, the Oludofian-In-Council, government and people of Kwara State over the sad incidence.
He further besieged Almighty Allah to grant the deceased absolute forgiveness, accept his good deeds and admit him into Al-janatul firdaos.
