Kwara Govt Trains 200 Pupils On AI Skills To Drive Future Innovation

Kwara State Government, in partnership with Digital Equity Africa, has trained 200 pupils from schools across the state on Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills among young learners.

The five-day training, tagged “Future Minds Independence AI Bootcamp,” was held from October 1st to 5th at the Ilorin Innovation Hub.

Participants were drawn from both public and private primary and junior secondary schools.

Speaking at the grand finale in Ilorin, the Managing Director of the Ilorin Innovation Hub, Mr Temi Kolawole, said the government’s sponsorship of the pupils reflects its commitment to digital inclusion and youth empowerment.

He noted that such early exposure would boost their curiosity, creativity, and confidence in technology.

Also speaking, the Chief Executive Officer of Digital Equity Africa, Mrs. Justina Nnam Oha, said the bootcamp was designed not just to teach technology but to reshape young minds and prepare them as creators of the digital future.

She commended Kwara State Government and the Ilorin Innovation Hub for their vision in promoting digital literacy and inclusiveness.

Some of the participants, Khadijat Abdulkareem, Ahmed Imam Ayodeji, and Aminat Akanbi thanked the organizers for giving them the opportunity to learn AI skills and become digitally smart.

The event was part of the state government’s efforts to build a tech-driven generation capable of shaping Kwara’s future innovation landscape.
