Says No Alternative to APC in Nigeria, as President Tinubu Renewed Hope Programme is yielding Positive Results

A Kwara State Governorship aspirant, Prof. Wale Sulaiman, CON, says he will mobilizes resources within and outside the country to provide free and compulsory primary and secondary education across the State, if elected the State Governor comes 2027.

He maintains that education remains the bedrock for societal development to create opportunities, which is to meaningfully ensure Education- for- All, as done by the late Sage Chief Obafemi Awolowo in the Western region.

Prof. Sulaiman made the submission while presenting his mini initial blueprint called “Kwara State Prosperity Agenda” at a Media Parley and Iftar with Media Executives, Journalists and Online Publishers on Saturday in Ilorin, the State capital.

He explained that the development blueprint is anchored on building a peaceful, united, and prosperous State where governance is people – centred with inclusive development.

The renowned Neurosurgeon who went down memory lane narrated how from a humble background he benefited from late Lateef Jakande scholarship in Lagos State to school abroad and became a successful health expert, promised to expand access to scholarships through public – private, international partnerships and philanthropy.

“I dream of a Kwara where a child of nobody can be somebody “, he said.

The APC Gubernatorial aspirant who highlighted different efforts by the present administration to tackle insecurity at both national and regional levels, promised to effectively use community policing, traditional institution and other locally driven security solutions for a safer Kwara.

He vowed to harness the Solid minerals sector, tackle illegal mining which is also fueling insecurity to boost revenue generation.

The APC chieftain advocated competence over zoning, as he emphasized that Kwara State requires credible leadership driven by proven competence, professional excellence, and genuine humanitarian service.

According to him:

“Money should not be the sole criterion for selecting those who govern and manage our commonwealth. Leadership must be built on competence, capacity, and character. It is time for us, as a united people of Kwara State, to shape our political future through a transparent and merit-based leadership recruitment process.

“My aspiration is not motivated by regional sentiment, but by the desire to move Kwara State forward across all regions, LGAs, and wards. I believe I am the most qualified and capable of the task”, he reiterated.

He advocated for universal health insurance coverage for all residents of Kwara State and promote the establishment of regional Specialist hospitals and health data registries for evidence – based planning, among other health agendas.

The Pro – Chancellor and Chairman, Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila – Orangun, FUHSI harps on the developmental blueprint to boost agricultural production, poverty reduction, strengthen social safety nets for vulnerable groups including women, children, elderly persons and people living with disabilities among others.

On economic growth and Youth employment, Prof. Sulaiman envisioned to attract national and international investments into agriculture, manufacturing, infrastructure, tourism, mining, clean energy, sports and ICT, to reduce youth unemployment and promote decent work with decent wages.

He added that he will prioritize the promotion of rich cultural heritage of all ethnic groups, with establishment of cultural heritage centers in strategic locations across the State.
