In a spirited call for unity, solidarity, and renewed commitment to democratic dividends, renowned Neurosurgeon and APC chieftain, Prof. Wale Sulaiman,CON, has emphasized the need for party members to bury all grievances and embrace a common purpose for the collective progress of Irepodun LGA and Kwara State under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, as well as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Prof. Wale Sulaiman made the call while hosting party faithfuls from Irepodun Local Government Area (LGA) at his Ilorin residence on the eve of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
The event held on Saturday served as a platform for introspection and strategic dialogue among party leaders and stakeholders.
Prof. Sulaiman, known for his non-traditional yet impactful political approach, emphasized the need to bury grievances and embrace a common purpose for the collective progress of Irepodun LGA and Kwara State under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda
“This gathering is not just about celebration—it’s a reaffirmation of who we are as a people: united, visionary, and committed to collective progress,” said Prof. Sulaiman.
“To truly deliver on the promise of democracy, we must stand together in solidarity.”
Stakeholders across Irepodun praised the initiative, highlighting the need for more engagements that promote inclusion and forward thinking.
Legal luminary and party stalwart, Chief Teju Oguntoye, commended Prof. Sulaiman’s statesmanship and called on all party members to rise above past differences and embrace a new season of cooperation.
Alhaji Abdulkarim Wara, an elder from Ajase Ward I, echoed these sentiments, calling for peaceful consensus in selecting candidates and a broader embrace of all aspirants.
“Let’s not let personal interests divide us. We must work together continue to strengthen our party and bring development,” he added.
Former TIC Chairman in the local government, Hon. Jide Oyinloye, expressed joy at the long-overdue dialogue among political stakeholders and emphasized the need to learn from past missteps.
“Each ward must work together, especially when appointments or projects are at stake. Politics must be an engine of development not division,” he stressed.
Representing the Executive Chairman of Irepodun LGA, Hon. Aliyu Muritala Omogoye, Speaker of the LGA Council, praised Prof. Sulaiman’s initiative, describing it as a crucial step toward party cohesion. He encouraged continued support for the Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration to maximize the benefits of governance.
Veteran party leader, Alhaji Abdulkarim Oladipo Kadiri Asunmoge, underscored Irepodun’s legacy of peaceful political engagement and encouraged a collective return to dialogue-driven progress. “Our tradition has always been one of unity in diversity. We must build on that foundation.”
Similarly, Alhaji Odebade Rasheed, Chairman of APC in Ajase Ward I, applauded Prof. Sulaiman for his consistent support and vision.
“We need more leaders like him who influence meaningful progress. His presence and efforts are deeply appreciated,” Alhaji Rasheed said.
The event witnessed the presence of notable party figures, elders, youth leaders, and community stakeholders from across the wards of Irepodun LGA, all of whom expressed renewed hope and commitment to a united front.
The event concluded with a shared resolution to strengthen internal harmony, deepen support for the ruling party, and work collaboratively to attract more developmental opportunities to Irepodun and Kwara State at large.
