Kwara State Government has said it is currently adopting a multifaceted approach to security through the mobilization of local intelligence and grassroots stakeholders, in the State.
The Secretary to the State Government, Professor Mamman Saba Jibril, made this known while receiving participants of Course 47 of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, who are currently on a study tour in the state.
Addressing the delegation on behalf of the Executive Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Professor Jibril encouraged the visiting officers to explore communities, and engage with the state’s security operatives, civil authorities, and traditional leaders to gain practical insights into Kwara’s security structure and community-driven model.
He expressed the state government’s keen interest in receiving the team’s report and recommendations, which are expected to offer actionable insights and practical perspectives that would help further strengthen the state’s internal security mechanisms.
In his remarks, Chief Instructor, of the Strategic Studies Division, and Team Leader for the Nigeria Study Tour 2025 to Kwara, Colonel Usman Hashim, stated that the group is one of nine teams from the Armed Forces Command and Staff College currently participating in a study tour across nine states in Nigeria.
He noted that the states visited so far include Abia, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Delta, Ebonyi, Imo, Kebbi, and Rivers.
Colonel Hashim stressed that during the visits, the student officers conducted research on specific areas of security and political affairs in the selected states, focusing on harnessing grassroots intelligence to enhance internal security.
The chief instructor appreciated the warm reception accorded to the team by the Kwara State Government.
