Youth Urged to Join Voluntary Organizations as Commissioner Meets Faith-Based Groups In Kwara

The Kwara State Commissioner for Youth Development, Amb. Ndanusa Usman Shehu, has met with leaders of various faith-based youth organizations, reaffirming the government’s commitment to supporting their activities and encouraging greater youth participation across the State.

During the meeting, Ambassador Shehu commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON, for his unwavering support for youth development and his consistent efforts in meeting the needs of voluntary youth groups.

“He is a visionary leader whose inclusive governance has created a conducive environment for young people to grow, learn, and contribute meaningfully to society,” Ndanusa stated

The Commissioner met with both the Christian and Islamic faith-based youth organizations, including the Boys’ Brigade, Girls’ Guide, Royal Shepherds, Royal Ambassadors, Sheriff Guards, First Aid Group, Islamiyah WAI Aid, and the Nigerian Aid Group.

He praised these organizations for their commitment to nurturing discipline, responsibility, and moral values among young people.

Amb. Ndanusa advised youths in all local government areas of the State to join any of these uniformed voluntary groups, noting that such platforms offer valuable life lessons that extend beyond the classroom.

He emphasized that the organizations teach discipline, patriotism, leadership, and service to humanity, qualities essential for building a strong and progressive society.

He also appealed to parents to allow and encourage their children to join these groups, stressing that such involvement not only enhances their character but also equips them with practical skills and strong moral compass.

The Commissioner assured the groups of the government’s continued support through capacity-building programmes, logistics, and policy backing, aimed at strengthening their impact.
