The House of Representatives has urged the FG to direct the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board, JAMB, to release all the results of those under sixteen who participated in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME.
The Green Chamber also urged the Federal Government to ensure the establishment of Computer Based Test CBT Centres across the 774 local Governments across the country.
In an urgent motion of Public importance, sponsored by a member representing Irepodun, Olorunda, Oshogbo, Orolu of Osun State, Morufu Adewale Adebayo, the House also mandated the FG to capture the establishment of CBT Centres in 774 in the next year Budget.
Mr. Adebayo, in his arguments, said many JAMB candidates lost their lives to fatal accidents while traveling to CBT Centres to write their examinations.
He said the stress and struggle to get to the CBT Centres contributed to the Mass failure of the 2025 UTME.
The lawmaker said if urgent measures were not taken to address the anger, agonies and frustrations that trailed the 2025 UTME, the nation’s education system would be negatively affected.
Contributing to the motion the member representing Jibia Kaita Federal Constituency of Katsina State Sada Soli noted that the JAMB Registrar Professor Ishiaka Oloyede should be commended for admitting to errors during the examinations as well as apologizing to Nigerians for the technical glitches.
Adopting the motion, the House referred the motion to the relevant committees for further legislative action.
